Before Midnight, a new film by Richard Linklater

Nearly everyone I know is excited about the film Before Midnight, the latest installment in the series of movies from Richard Linklater. In the first film of the series, Before Sunrise, Jesse and Celine meet on a train and share an incredible night together talking and dreaming while wandering the streets of Vienna. The characters are reunited in Before Sunset, 9 years later in Paris, at much different stages in their lives, but their connection remains undeniable. Both films are such sweet, quirky and most importantly, honest depictions of love and were released at time intervals (1995, 2004) that favor the questions and doubts of relationships Jesse and Celine encounter that make these films so relatable. Another 9 years later, Before Midnight finds the couple married with children. Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke display that sort of realism so beautiful and touching it's tough not to find them charming. If you have followed these films over the past 20 years as I have, it's possible they have mirrored your own journey of discovering love, self-fulfillment and eventually marriage.I’ve attached the trailer for the film to hold you over until Friday!NPR talks to Richard Linklater about filming Before Midnight and working with Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke here. Have you seen Before Sunrise and Before Sunset? Are you excited for the follow up?
